My weekend…

I made myself one of other “disney” ink-stamps. Always wanted to make one for myself. The most usable ink-stamp would be a “Return Address” stamp since I’m always mailing things to everyone. I stood at the booth probably like 15mins trying to decide on the image and the placement of words.

This is one of the cuter ones which didn’t look too girly/childish.
The rest had like disney princesses on them. Which looks REALLY nice!

Pretty ain’t it?
Cost me sgd$24.90 (a little ex, i know. but it’s really pretty!) but it’s really well-made! The words and images were all “engraved” onto the ink-pad. Not the cheapo-craved-out-of-sponge stuff.

Essentially you get to choose:
1. Size of the stamp
2. Design
3. Words placement
4. Font used
5. Colour of ink pad

It was ready within a hour! Pretty speedy.
p.s the refills are available $5!

Another thing I bought over the weekends.
The organizing drawers! I was in desperate need of organising ALL my barangs barangs. They are EVERYWHERE! On the cupboard shelves, on the shelves, in the cupboards, in my mini 6-drawer shelves. RAWR!!! I HATED the mess but at the same time, I didn’t have a place for everything!

My intention was to head over to IMM’s Giant and take a look at the Toyogo Drawers they have! Who knew, there’s a “buy 1 free 1″ offer! So these 2 drawers are for SGD21.++ Whack la! So I spent my afternoon cutting anti-slip mats to place inside. And arranging all my stuff!

This is the NOT-DONE yet. Obviously the top is still  very messy. In the midst of still deciding where certain stuff should go. LOL.

The insides! ALL full!
First tier: Blushers + Lip stuff / Mascaras + Eye stuff
Second tier: Skin care + Perfumes / Nail stuff
Third tier: Hair stuff / Small bags
Fourth tier (Unseen): Electric stuff / Stocks of cotton wool, cotton buds

Still need to arrange them around, cause now my mini 6-drawers is EMPTY! RAWR! hee~

So I guess this is my little spring cleaning for CNY!

My fetish for cameras

If you know me, you would know that I have a serious fetish for cameras.

I can’t help it but to set my eyes on those pretty things! I just MUST have them. I love tinkering around, figuring out how each function works and simply enjoying the whole process of learning. It’s just awesome, the amount of knowledge that can be gained from such. It gives my great self-satisfaction, the ability to understand “camera” language.

My collection (that I bought):
1) Nikon Coolpix (some old model; my first compact with LCD!)
2) Vivitar UWS (35mm film)
3) Holga 120N (120 film)
4) Canon 450D DSLR
5) Aquapix (Underwater 35mm film)

and my most current acquisition!
6) Canon AE-1P with 50mm f/1.8
(Photos extracted from the seller @ebay. That’s the exact one being shipped to me right now…)

It’s a FULLY manual film SLR! *GUSHES!!!!* (*.*)
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! I can’t wait to lay my hands on this baby. Hurry up and come to mama~

Canon AE-1 Program, 1981
Five years after the original AE-1 was introduced, Canon brought out an excellent upgraded version in 1981, known as the AE-1 Program or AE-1P in short. The AE-1 Program was considered as one of the two most elegant looking A series bodies (the other was the Canon A-1 in 1977). AE-1 Program was certainly a worthy successor. It was packed with improved features, which were not found in its predecessor. Among the features was the Programmed AE, (first debut in the A-1) in addition to the Shutter-priority AE and manual override modes.

I’ll definitely be bloggin about my new baby when it reaches in my hands. It’ll be PHOTOSHOOT time soon again! yipee!!

p.s E(vil)-Bay has held my captive as I scrawl the pages full of FD lens. *tsk tsk tsk*
Another camera for me to indulge again.
Another camera for me to get lens, accessories and whatnots.

oh my, oh my, oh my~
*God bless my wallet/paypal (which is more apt in this case)*

Layang Day

The very next week after bringing Twinkle out for East Coast.
I brought her to Marina Barrage for kite-flying! I’m more than willing to bring her out to dog-friendly places (which is sadly, very rare in SG).

Before this trip, I was on the search for the perfect LAYANG (aka kite).
And (of course) the easy source is to google for it and surprisingly very little turned up.

Some kite-selling local websites I’ve gathered are:
1. http://layanginthesky.blogspot.com/ (My friends bought fr here!)
2. http://flykites.webs.com/product.htm
3. http://buy-kites.blogspot.com/

I chose one from the website but I couldn’t meet with the timing of the seller. Anyhow, more searches on the web shows that SKP sells kites too! You know, SKP which sells plastic wares and stuff. And I have one SKP right at my void deck! wee~

I bought a plain triangle kite fr there!
1. Kite (large) – $7.50
2. String – $3.50
Total: $11.00
(aint that ex)

Tips to kite-buying:
- Big kite is GOOD kite. More surface area for the kite to “catch” the wind.
- Get the LONGEST string (>100m or more!) available. With the kite high high up in the sky = more stable. Rather than fight with the wind direction, like what we experienced. hee~)
Essentially just 2 tips, can’t think of more. heh.

So happily, we head to Marina Barrage for our layang day. We arrived about 5pm and boy, the sun was up and shining brightly! There were SO MANY kites up there! Lovely sight to watch. Not so lovely to fly our kite. It was a tad too crowded. Marcus nicely helped me to set up my kite high high up the sky and before i knew it, it was drastically plunging downwards.  o.O Ha… We had to recover the kite which ‘cut’ so many others’ :P

We had a little picnic there as well. Eating our fly-away bee hoon, due to the crazily STRONG winds! Everything was flying everywhere! Twinkle is obviously enjoying the attention she was getting with the amount of kids gathering around her. Just look at her “Classic” hair-do, inspired by some flying dog.

When dusk arrived, close to 7pm, that was when the crowd lessen. And that’s when we played with our kites again! I got mine high high all by myself *Proud*. Un-bashful about it as it’s my first time flying kites, my childhood is more of observing my brothers making their kite out of tracing paper and canes.

I flew a kite! (One more thing on my list of things i’ve done!)
