My first DSLR aka orh-orh aka bskt;
Canon450D + EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS [30-11-2008]
I always like photography;
freezing the moment, that specific moment. ;)

Lens i have/had:
1) 50mm prime lens f1.8 [Jan 2009]
Lovely portrait lens. Gives a sharp image with a nice depth. Of course f1.4 (~sgd500) /1.2 (>>sgd500) would be a better choice but the price differences. ha. BUT i dropped it, and the mount being plastic broke. *heart-break*
Contemplating to getting another one. (~ sgd100 fr CP)

2) Lensbaby 2.0 [Jan 2009@$150; Sold on Jan 2010@$110]
Read – FUN lens
Completely manual lens. Focusing done by my fingers! Bending the tube extension.
Gives that photoshopped effect. A sweet spot that’s clear and the other parts blurry and dreamy.

3) Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 AT-X 107 DX Fisheye Lens [April 2009]
Another FUN lens! heehee~ Fun is my kinda thing. ;P
Was on the look-out for FE lens. Seems like there’s limited choices for FE lens on cropped bodies. The cropped bodies will un-fisheye the FE image. Stumbled upon Tokina 107; seems to give really pretty FE shots. With a zoom factor to decide how FE you want your shots to be. Was afraid that i’ll get sick of the FE effect. The zoom factor erases that fear as i’m able to control the amt of FE-ness i want.

Damage: SGD$717 *ouch*

4) Sigma 70-300mm Lens f/4-5.6 DG Macro [June 2009]
Zoom zoom zoom! Cheap range of telezoom lens.
Pretty useful. Best used with a lot of light; due to no IS/VC.
Used this for my F1 ‘09 shooting. Some pretty nice shots taken.
Had a good lobang for this lens; only SGD$80.

5) Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II [9 October 2009]
Rushed to purchase this so i could use it for my friend’s wedding the very next day.
I LOVE the f-stop of 2.8. Gives a great depth of focus and also it works well in low-light. No IS/VC as well, but due to the low f-stop. My shots are pretty sharp in all the day shots. Night shots are a little more difficult, but again i got pretty clear shots as well. Even with my always-shaky hands. LOVE this lens. Will be replacing my kit lens with this baby. :)
Bought this off another gentleman;
2nd-hand in perfect condition.
Comes with hood, UV filter.
All for SGD$430. What a good deal.

I bought my FE lens for $717. :P Now lens all rising prices. i managed to buy this lens before the price hike. Think it’s about a $60 increase. FE is perfect for horizons~ hee. Wide-angle. It is able to focus objects pretty near as well; even ~5cm fr lens also can. Hee. so can tk funny upclose shots!
Macro not really my kinda thing. Usually they shoot like insects and flowers. hee.

ya loh. LOL. I hesitated for a LONG time before deciding to buy it before my Redang trip.
Macro lens also no cheap leh.. abt 800-900? :P Do take note what’s the focusing mechanism of the lens. Some(tamron? i think?) focuses with external protrusion and some(canon?) has internal focusing mechanism. The problem with external protrusion is that the lens “might” touch wadever subject that’s very near. One of my friend had this problem with his macro lens. Just take note la. :D
